Coolbits Overclocking - How does it work?
Dear Mad Mod Mike,
Recently received and installed my second MSI 7800 GTX videocard for my Asus A8N Premium/FX 55 based new build. I have the latest hardware drivers and everything is working fine. Couldn't be happier. Prior to going to SLI, I was mildly overclocking my MSI card at 450 MHz / 1.25 GHz up from a base of 430/1.2. I have read the FAQ on the slizone and have enabled the Coolbits registry change as 1A to get the best of all worlds. I have again set the speeds to 450 MHz and 1.25 GHz. Am I adjusting both cards' parameters or just one? If I'm only affecting one videocard, how can I adjust the other one to be identical?

Good Question Steve! When you enable Coolbits and set it to 1A, you will have the ability to change the clocks on BOTH cards to the SAME new values. The clock settings that you select in the control panel using coolbits will be applied to BOTH cards. Since the best SLI performance is achieved when the clock speeds are identical, NVIDIA provides settings in the control panel that force uniform clocks. However, SLI WILL work if the clocks are different (if you purchased cards with different clocks).
