SLI Setup Help - The EZ Selector Card

Dear Mad Mod Mike,

I have recently purchased a second GeForce 6600 GT card and now wish to install SLI (for I already have another GeForce 6600 GT card and an A8N-SLI motherboard, which, needless to say, supports SLI). I have installed everything like it said on you quick-step-guide, however when windows is supposed to tell me my system is now SLI capable (in the 'GeForce' section of 'settings'), it just states that I should remove any non SLI compatible cards. I know both of my cards and my motherboard are SLI capable and both of my cards are 6600 GT's, however one of them is a Club 6600 GT and the other one is an ASUS Extreme 6600 GT, could this be a problem?

I hope you can help me and I'd like to thank you in advance,

Sven Roozendaal

MMM This is a common setup problem! Not to worry Sven, I have received numerous emails like yours and have the answer for you. The problem is not that you have cards from different manufacturers. As long as you are using a Release 80 driver, these cards will work well together. Your problem is most likely the EZ Selector Card. Many people have had issues turning this card the correct direction for SLI and making sure that it is properly & fully inserted. A loose connection will cause the warning that states that one of your cards is not compatible. If the selector card is positioned the wrong direction, this warning can also appear. Good Luck Sven!!

Response from Sven:

"The EZ selector was the problem, thanks a lot for helping me, SLI now runs fine (and FEAR plays twice as fast :=) )
