SLI-Ready Power Supply Help
A lot of gamers are troubled everyday by power supplies that simply don't provide enough power for their SLI PC. When buying a power supply for gaming, it's important to look not only at the total output (for example 500W) but also at the output that can be supplied on the 12V lines (graphics cards draws power from the 12V line). But stopping there is not enough. Since most power supplies have multiple 12V rails it also makes a difference how these are distributed. For example if they are split into two rails and one rail is dedicated to the CPU, then you are only left with half of the 12V power for graphics and all other power requirements. As you can see, you really need to do a very detailed analysis to figure out whether or not a certain power supply is going to be adequate for your system. For this reason, NVIDIA provides a list of certified supplies that have been tested to pass the power requirements for SLI PCs. Simply tell us what GPUs you have and we will provide you a list of power supplies that are tested to have enough power for your PC.
